Thanks for the best travel tip I ever got!!!
Thank you to whoever made this suggestion!!! I always needed this, but never thought of it...a 240V power strip (with appropriate adaptors of course). Three of us have cameras and various iPods, iphones and ipads and no way have there been enough outlets in any of the hotels or the agriturismo we have stayed in in the last week and a half for all the chargers. In one place, there was no empty outlet at all so we were able to use a lamp's outlet and just plug the lamp into the strip.
What a life saver, especially to my teenage son who never would have survived!
Thanks again!

Amazon has a few of them. Googling also brings up other sources. I think this might be the one kwren has:

Here is the one I bought:
http://www.amazon.com/VCT-USP600-Wor...sr=1-1-catcorr
The one listed above looks the same, but it says 'heavy duty European plug' and I wanted an American plug to go with my adaptors. I can't see what type of plug that other one has at the end, even when I enlarge the page.
We have 2 adaptors for Europe with us and they plug into each other. We just leave them on the plug and always have both with us. They are not grounded, but if we were going to plug in higher power items, we would get a grounded adaptor. In the past, when we plugged in just one charger with an adaptor, it was not grounded so we figure we are ok.
Be careful to check that whatever you plug into this is good for 240V. Camera and phone chargers should have 220 or 240 written somewhere on them, so check first. However, we did plug in a small rechargeable battery charger without thinking to check first. After a while the light went out so maybe we burned it out. Sure enough, it only said 120V.. The batteries worked anyway, but we're not going to plug that in again.

The one I use (as a solo traveler) is:
http://www.amazon.com/Outlets-Go-Pow.../ref=de_a_smtd
3 AC outlets and 1 USB port for only .6 lb. I love it! Makes traveling MUCH easier.

J62 - that one is a 125v one - no good for Europe surely?
Missypie - if you can't find one with a USB outlest you can buy small USB plugs - they plug into the wall and have one or two USB sockets for charging stuff.
We have one we bought in Hema here in NL (so it is 220-240v) and use it all the time. It only cost a few euros.
