Getting Here and Around

The fastest and easiest way to reach Salento is to fly to the nearby city of Armenia (24 km [15 miles]) or to Pereira (60 km [37 miles]). Regular buses run at almost all hours of the day from both cities; or ask your hotel to organize a taxi, as the distances are small and the costs quite reasonable.

Valle de Cocora is easily reached in one of Willys' polished and brightly painted WWII Jeeps, which depart regularly from the village plaza. Tours start about 6 am and last about 30 minutes (3,400 pesos). Get the first Jeep if possible, and avoid weekends, to avoid the crowds.
