Fodor's Expert Review Fundo Los Leones

La Junta, Aisén, Chile

Editor's Note: This location is reported to be under new ownership and therefore this review may contain inaccuracies.

This lodge provides a stunning, quiet place to relax and engage in outdoor excursions, such as fishing, bird-watching, and hiking in pristine natural surroundings. Each of the rooms differs in size and appearance but all have a wood-burning stove to provide warmth on chilly nights. The owner, Jeff Wells, bought the ranch from conservationist Doug Tompkins, then donated about 1,000 acres of the property to The Nature Conservancy; the rest is occupied by Fundo Los Leones.
