Fundo Los Leones

58 km west of La Junta, near small fishing village called Raúl Marín Balmaceda, La Junta, Aisén, Chile

This lodge provides a stunning, quiet place to relax and engage in outdoor excursions, such as fishing, bird-watching, and hiking in pristine natural surroundings. Each of the rooms differs in size and appearance but all have a wood-burning stove to provide warmth on chilly nights. Staff can happily babysit. The owner, Jeff Wells, bought the ranch from conservationist Doug Tompkins, then donated about 1,000 acres of the property to The Nature Conservancy—the rest is occupied by Fundo Los Leones.
