Fodor's Review

One of the Lake District's signature excursions is a binational one. The Cruce de Lagos takes in a combination of bus and boat transport from Puerto Varas to San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, via the park's Lago Todos los Santos and Argentina's Lago Nahuel Huapi.

Cruce Andino. This all-day crossing of the spectacular Andean mountain lakes between Puerto Varas and Bariloche is the classic trip of the area and worth doing. It leaves out of Lake Todos Los

Santos in Vicente Perez Rosales National Park at 10 am every day. There is a stop for lunch at an island lake called Peulla before eventually arriving in Bariloche at around 9 pm. The operator can also pick you up at your hotel if in Puerto Varas or Bariloche. Del Salvador 72, Puerto Varas, 5550000. 65/243–7127. www.cruceandino.com. From 165,000 pesos.
