Fodor's Review

Guillermo Rodríguez, who supervised the kitchen here for 16 years and won just about all of the country's culinary competitions, left in 2008. But the restaurant retains his style, under the authority of his right-hand man Axel Manríquez, with dishes like marinated scallops over octopus carpaccio and cold tomato and pepper sauce. The only disappointment is the restaurant's lack of windows with a view.

Bristol Review

Couldn't agree more with the other reviewer. Had the lunch buffet yesterday (at about USD 38, which included drinks). Very poor food, service, prices and atmosphere. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Horrendous, overpriced food!

After seeing the Fodor's recommendation, I was eager to try Bristol. I was severely disappointed when the food was inedible, the service poor, the prices absurd, and the atmosphere about the same as a mall food court. To top it off, the Hotel San Francisco charges an 18% tax on the meal for anyone not staying at the hotel. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Any wine you want to try - no problemo here.

Prix fixe menu includes sampling any wine you want on the excellent wine cart. The chef cooks a cross section of excellent local fare (ostrich??) Try the congrio (conger eel) or corvina (sea bass) or, better still, both. Better value than the Picasso or Alex in Las Vegas.
