Fodor's Review

Each of the spacious and comfortable rooms in this mammoth hotel has a balcony overlooking Barra Beach, and while the hotel is in need of modernization, it has a large heated pool as well as tennis courts and a fitness center. Its proximity to Barra's conference centers makes it popular with business travelers and will make it a good base for visitors coming to Rio for the 2016 Olympics. It's a long way from Rio's most famous attractions, however, although new fast bus corridors and a planned metro station (scheduled to be in operation in time for the Olympics) mean that Barra now feels less isolated from the rest of town.
