You could be walking into a Marriott anywhere in the world, which is a comfort for some and a curse for others: expect spotlessly clean rooms and public areas, an efficient English-speaking staff, and modern (and expensive) services and facilities. Despite the enormous lobby, rooms here are smaller than at most Marriott hotels. Some have views of Avenida Atlântica and Copacabana, but most look onto the interior atrium. Business travelers are the Marriott's bread and butter, but thanks to its location—the front door spits you out onto Copacabana Beach—this hotel attracts tourists as well. The breakfasts are real feasts. Guests are able to use the pool and shower facilities after checkout if they have a later departure, and free flip-flops in the rooms are another nice touch. There's an extra charge for Wi-Fi, however.
