Safety and Precautions

Brasília, especially the Plano Piloto, is safe. In the residential blocks and their commercial subsectors you can wander in the evening without much concern. One exception is the commercial area around Estação Rodoviária, which can be sketchy at night. Watch out for pickpocketing, counterfeit items, and con artists.
