Bozeman Trail Gallery

A stronghold of frontier culture, the Bozeman Trail Gallery has a varied collection of 19th- and 20th-century art and artifacts from the American West, ranging from vintage Colt revolvers and leather saddles to Cheyenne Sioux moccasins and Navajo rugs. The gallery also maintains a collection of significant Western paintings from artists such as Karen Vance and Ernest Martin Hennings.

Cody Country Art League

Adjacent to the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce visitor center, this expansive and eclectic gallery displays paintings, wood carvings, bronzes, and pottery by both established and emerging regional artists, and at a wide range of prices.

Crazy Woman Trading Company

The Crazy Woman Trading Company sells unique gifts and antiques, including deluxe coffees and T-shirts picturing a black bear doing yoga. Murphy McDougal, the store's CEO (and the owners' golden retriever), is usually sleeping near the front door. The store is closed on Sunday.

Devils Tower Trading Post

At the entrance to Devils Tower National Monument, you can purchase informative books, Western art, buffalo hides, clothing, knickknacks, and souvenirs. A giant Harley-Davidson flag (supposedly the world's largest) flies over the store, so it's no wonder that bikers overrun the place during the massive Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in August. The old-fashioned ice-cream parlor, which also serves a mean sarsaparilla, is a treat in the heat of summer.

Eastridge Mall

The largest shopping center in a 175-mile radius, the Eastridge Mall, anchored by such standbys as Sears, JCPenney, Target, and Macy's, is popular and important to locals.

Legends Bookstore

In addition to stocking a wide selection of travel books, histories, and outdoor guides to Wyoming and the Rockies, this friendly independent bookshop is a good bet for distinctive local gifts.

Open Range Images

This gallery in a handsome historic downtown building carries the work of some of the area's top photographers. Wyoming's wildlife, flora, and landscapes provide the primary scenes, but less traditional themes also are presented.

Stop by for buffalo-meat products, such as sausage and jerky, in addition to specialty foods such as huckleberry honey, barbecue sauces, candy, and other products made in the Cowboy State.
