Ron and Bobbie Spahn have guest rooms and cabins at their soaring log home in the Big Horn Mountains. The rooms have tongue-and-groove woodwork, peeled-log beams, ruffled curtains, and peeled-log beds, and overlook Native American lands, mountain peaks, and Montana in the distance. It's more than a traditional B&B: you can participate in horseback riding, cookouts, and guided tours that include a wildlife-viewing trip. Family-style dinners, including fresh grilled steaks, are served by arrangement. Pros: Secluded, short drive to Big Horn (7.5 mi), (16.5 mi to Sheridan). Cons: Solar-powered electricity and limited hot water showers might exasperate those unaccustomed to more luxuries.
