A beloved alpine escape for more than 30 years, this cozy and charming, Bavarian-style chalet got a modern upgrade in 2021 with the addition of two new buildings designed by Tom Kundig of Olson Kundig, named one of the AD100 design firms by Architectural Digest. The sleek buildings added contemporary accommodations to the property, as well as a new lobby and lounge area, ski lockers for guests, a fitness center and sauna, and the crown jewel: Deer Valley's only rooftop pool and hot tub with panoramic mountain views. The new buildings connect to the original inn via a glass bridge skywalk. The 18 original rooms were spruced up, too, and feature fresh paint and new carpet, drapes, and minibars. On-site dining options include an Austrian-inspired restaurant offering lunch and dinner; the Antler Lounge, a new après gathering spot for food and drinks; and The Kitz, a coffee shop and café. Guest opportunities range from alpine fire cooking classes and Bavarian beer tastings to customized ski experiences and full moon mountain bike rides.
