A little less than 10 miles from Wimberley is a little weekend escape set on a 100-acre plot with rolling hills and enchanting vistas. You won't even have to leave the premises to forage for dinner. Instead, a three-course meal is prepared each night and served family-style to you and the other inn guests. Rooms have romantic fireplaces and views of the fiery Texas sunsets. The spa is small but digs in with excellent Swedish and deep-tissue massage therapy.

  • most rooms have jetted tubs
  • views of the Hill Country from the west-facing decks are spectacular

CONS

  • beds aren't as comfortable as the rest of the accommodations
  • spa a bit on the small side
  • some rooms have much better views than others
