Omni Austin Downtown Review

Your introduction to this bustling, business-oriented hotel is a soaring, granite-and-glass atrium lobby. From atrium-view rooms you can spy on diners and scurrying businesspeople below. Exterior rooms have balconies and city vistas (on upper floors). The decor neither inspires nor offends. At this writing, room renovations are scheduled for completion in May 2008. Most of the suites were once condos and have full kitchens, washers and dryers, and walk-in closets. Some rooms have whirlpool baths, and there's an outdoor swimming pool on the roof. At breakfast, the eggs are cage-free, the bagels are shipped from New York. Service is professional, if on the cool side.

We stayed in a Club Room for three nights and were very pleased. The hotel was centrally located. The room was large, the bed was comfortable, and the shower pressure was strong.
The "free breakfast" that came with the room was more substantial and tastier than most executive floor breakfasts at other chains. The appetizers in the evening were good too.
When we discovered during the first night that we had a crying baby next door, the front desk was very helpful the next morning in moving us to another room.
