Fodor's Review

This luxury hotel occupies one of Providence's most mysterious addresses, a stately nine-story Neoclassical Revival building constructed as a Masonic temple between 1926 and 1928 but unoccupied for an inconceivable 75 years. Developers restoring the building in the early 2000s incorporated the original architectural features, and the decor pays tribute to building's history with framed 1926 blueprints from Osgood & Osgood, the original architects, and photos of vintage graffiti found in the long-empty corridors. Ask for a room overlooking the State House, across Francis Street, and dine on gourmet comfort food while you sip craft cocktails at Public Kitchen & Bar, the on-site restaurant.
