On a windswept promontory, this unusual late-Victorian property is one of Oregon's most remarkable bed-and-breakfasts, owned by the U.S. Forest Service and managed by two certified executive chefs. Steve Bursey and Michelle Korgan prepare a multicourse breakfast each morning, with seasonal offerings. Meals include herbs and produce from the Lightstation garden and highlight the best of Oregon: artisan cheeses, sausages, and house-made pastries. The nicest of the simply furnished rooms is the Mariner's, with a private bath and an awe-inspiring view. Filled with period detailing and antiques, the common areas are warm and inviting. If you're lucky, you may hear Rue, the resident ghost, in the night.
