Fodor's Review

The highest-volume farmers' market in North Carolina may not have the prettiest exterior, but it's a good place to buy local jams, jellies, honey, stone-ground grits and cornmeal, and, in season, local fruits and vegetables (not all produce is locally grown). A wholesale section with large sheds below the main retail section (both are open to all) offers produce in bulk. An herb festival is held annually in the spring. On the grounds of the market are a garden supply store and a Southern-style restaurant, Moose Café.
