New York City Restaurants

Annisa Review

After a fire gutted this chic West Village restaurant in 2009, celebrity chef and co-owner Anita Lo has bounced back stronger than ever. "Annisa" may mean "the women" in Arabic, but the food here is inspired by Asia. And it's top notch. Foie gras soup dumplings, barbequed squid with basil and peanuts, and Japanese curry-spiked rabbit are just a few winning examples you might find on the menu here. But be sure to save room for dessert: the pecan and salted butterscotch beignets with bourbon ice cream are good enough to make you enroll in the fire academy to protect the place from another fire.
