Brooklyn Children's Museum

Fodor's Review:

A mile east of Grand Army Plaza is the oldest children's museum in the country, now housed in a sparkling new Viñoly-designed "green" building. Here kids can become astronauts, run a bakery, create African-patterned fabric, and even become DJs, mixing the rhythms of the outdoors to make music.

  • Cost: $7.50
  • Open: Weekends 10-6, Wed-Fri. 1-6 PM
  • Subway: C to Kingston-Throop Aves.; 3 to Kingston Ave.
