About four blocks south of the Plaza, in the hip Guadalupe District, this contemporary inn, which opened in 2001 and looks like an attractive, if fairly ordinary, adobe motel, has stunning and spotless rooms with elegant Southwestern furnishings. Tile baths, high-quality linens, and upscale furnishings fill every room, along with two phone lines and CD stereos; many have kiva fireplaces, or balconies and patios. It may not have the staff and all of amenities of a full-service hotel, but the rooms themselves are more inviting than several more-expensive downtown hotels, and the small business center and gym are open 24 hours. Most rooms open onto a gravel parking lot, although chile ristras hanging outside each unit brighten things up. The make-your-own-breakfast-burrito buffet is a nice touch.

We pulled into Santa Fe about 2PM on a Sunday. Stopped in to see what they had for us (we'd decided to stay 3 nights as it was the end of an 18 day trip) and got a stunningly beautiful room for $120/night. Included breakfast - which includes a "burrito bar" with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, tortillas & several salsas as well as excellent fruit, yogurt, cereal, bagels, breads and waffles (to be toasted in toaster), 3 juices and VERY GOOD coffee. Plus you are walking distance to the plaza. Staff was helpful and the room was spotless.
