In Lone Butte, about 20 mi south of Downtown Santa Fe and 6 mi before you reach Cerrillos, this funky spot is known for its creative fare and nontraditional setting—an actual feed store, with roosters, turkeys, and peacocks running about outside. In one of the two bric-a-brac–filled dining rooms, sample rich cinnamon rolls and such delectables as burritos stuffed with roast beef and potatoes and topped with green chile, and the much-loved Feed Store burrito (hash browns
and bacon in a soft tortilla, topped with cheese, chile, and egg). Hot apple pie à la mode with rum sauce is a favorite. Expect a wait on weekend mornings.
