Kumi Review

This restaurant, the latest from The Light Group, is Japanese with a twist. Chef Toshiyuki Motoyama combines his traditional sushi background with influences of Thai, Peruvian, Latin, and other Asian cuisines in an effort to keep dishes interesting. This means seafood dishes with spicy peppers, beef with lemongrass, and an abundance of cilantro. It also means sushi rolls you likely won't find anywhere else on the Strip. The bar is different, too; instead of stacking bottles on shelves above the bar, selections are showcased in traditional Japanese jewelry cases. Who ever said all Japanese restaurants had to feel the same?
