A rare find, these late-19th-century inns a block apart from each other have been gloriously restored in accordance with the aesthetic of the Victorian era. Busy, colorful wall coverings reach to the high ceilings. Antiques include a burled-walnut headboard and dresser set, carved golden-oak beds, and wicker steamship chairs. Lace curtains and hand-stenciling grace the rooms, which have supremely comfortable beds with goose-down comforters. Pros: classy design elements, with lots of charm and elegance; great linens; free parking. Cons: rooms chock-full of ornate furnishings may be a bit much for some, tiny baths with (tiled) shower stalls.
