Hanover House

Fodor's Review:

Set on ½ acre of landscaped lawn on a busy road—but within walking distance of the ferry—this three-property, children-friendly inn consists of a classic, home-style B&B, a country inn, and a carriage house. Rooms are decorated with a combination of antiques and reproduction furniture, mostly in the Victorian style, and each has individual flair: in one, an antique sewing machine serves as the TV stand. The three carriage-house suites have private decks or patios, two have kitchenettes, and one has a gas fireplace. Pros: Good value, 10-minute walk to shops and dining, kitchenettes in some units. Cons: Off busy road, no water or beach views from most units, stall showers in a couple of units.

  • In-room: kitchen (some), Wi-Fi.

  • Closed: Closed Dec.-Mar.
