$$-$$$$, South End
Fodor's Review:
Tucked into a quiet South End neighborhood, this hip property is popular with travelers who appreciate the intimacy of a B&B and the style and sophistication of an upscale hotel. A massive renovation blended original 1860 Victorian touches, including hardwood floors, marble fireplaces, and decorative moldings, with modern art and up-to-date amenities. All rooms have queen-size beds and baths with limestone floors, tile walls, and whirlpools or two-person showers; some even have skylights. The fifth floor has a roof deck and hot tub with a view of the Boston skyline. Pros: Stylish decor, free parking, more boutique than B&B. Cons: Only three rooms means reservations are often tough to come by; families or party-hardy visitors may find it too refined
