Getting Here and Around

From the south, both Routes 35 and 5 lead to Bethel, overlapping several miles south of town. Route 5 from Bethel to Fryeburg is especially pretty come fall, with long stretches of overhanging trees and glimpses of Kezar Lake as the road passes through tiny Center Lovell. If you're coming to Bethel from the west on U.S. 2, you’ll pass White Mountain National Forest.
