Fodor's Expert Review The Inn at Bath
969 Washington St., Bath, Maine, 04530, USA
An 1840s Greek Revival mansion in the heart of Bath's historic district is the setting for this welcoming, beautifully furnished (but unfussy) inn. Two rooms have wood-burning fireplaces, making them especially popular wintertime choices. The innkeeper is a trained chef whose skill shines in breakfast dishes such as a fruit-filled clafouti with maple candied bacon, a grilled ham and brie sandwich on a homemade English muffin, or an open-faced BLT with a poached egg. It's a 10-minute walk to Front Street's shops and eateries.
PROS
- gracious atmosphere
- excellent breakfasts
- short walk to Front Street shops and eateries
CONS
- not on the waterfront
- breakfast served at communal table
