Fodor's Review

There's an infectious vibe at this eclectic Arts District eatery, a foodie hot spot as well as a longtime local favorite. The 2,000-square-foot space has lofty tin ceilings and worn maple floors. Mismatched chandeliers dangle over the dining area, and a pair of antlers crowns the open kitchen. Regulars chat with servers about what just-caught seafood will decorate the paella and which organic veggies are starring in the tortillas, one of several tapas choices. You'll find entrées like Casco Bay hake with herb salsa verde, poached purple potatoes, smoked aioli, and beets. Many of the 10 or so draft brews are Maine crafted; there are some 150 mostly European wines. Reservations aren't taken for the large bar side.
