Sunda Review

Named for the Sunda Shelf, an ancient Southeast Asian landmass, this trendy spot scours Asia for riotously flavorful fare. There's a full sushi bar, of course, but we're more impressed by dishes like the devil's basket, a pot of crispy soft-shelled crabs with dried chilis and toasted garlic, and the caramelized watermelon "nigiri" topped with eel "bacon" and diced mango. Well-executed cocktails complement the sweet, sour, and spicy dishes. The buzzing and expansive space cobbles together communal tables, traditional and lounge seating, and Asian antiques.
