Chicago deep-dish pizza got its start here in 1943, and both local and out-of-town fans continue to pack in for filling pies. Housed in a Victorian brownstone, Uno offers a slice of old Chicago in dim paneled rooms with reproduction light fixtures. Spin-off Due down the street handles the overflow. Plan on two thick, cheesy slices or less as a full meal. This is no quick-to-your-table pie, so do order salads and be prepared to entertain the kids during the inevitable wait.

I love going to this pizzeria. The wait time is usually long around an hour but the food is well worth the wait. I took a friend for the first time and she fell in love with it. The toppings are so fresh and the crust is just the right sweetness. The mozarella sticks are a must. This place is well worth the price.
