Fodor's Review

Uninterrupted views of the landmark Wrigley Building, Lake Michigan, and the Chicago River make it easy to overlook the food at Sixteen—but you shouldn't. Located on the 16th floor (hence the name) of the sleek Trump International Hotel & Tower, the restaurant serves chef Thomas Lents's unique take on modern American cuisine. Each tasting menu (4, 8, or 16 courses for $105, $150, or $210) tells a seasonal tale with dishes such as pickled foie gras with hearth spices and borscht, and sturgeon with fennel, oyster, and caviar, followed by innovative desserts from pastry chef Patrick Fahy. Power lunching is still popular here, with the potato-leek soup remaining a menu staple. Breakfast, with house-made crumpets, jumbo lump crab omelet, and freshly squeezed juices, are an indulgent accompaniment to early-morning views over the lake.
