BT
BT Review
Local restaurateur B. T. Nguyen has earned quite a following since opening her first two eateries more than two decades ago. In late 2010, Restaurant BT moved from its white tablecloth digs in Old Hyde Park Village and dropped the first part of its moniker. The new locale is supermodern, and the cuisine features fresh herbs grown on-site and a drink list that includes organic sake martinis. With a motto like "eat local, think global," the menu is inevitably sophisticated yet simple, with creative offerings like Deconstructed Beef Stroganoff James, which consists of grass-fed filet mignon, chanterelle mushrooms, and a Burgundy reduction served over fresh pasta. Vegetarians and vegans can rest easy here—entrée options include tofu-and-edamame Lauren (with cubed tofu, ginger, cilantro, diced ginger, edamame, and steamed jasmine rice).

Yes, the food is quite good. But the prices make this place just plain not a good value. There are many excellent Vietnamese and Thai restaurants in this area, and there just is no need for a $75/couple asian meal here!

A friend & I are thinking of taking our annual spring break to Sarasoga and Siesta Key.
Can you recommend this or would you recommend somewhere else that might have a tropical island feel?
