Café Boulud Review

Palm Beach socialities just can't get enough of this prized restaurant by celebrated chef Daniel Boulud. This posh French-American venue in the Brazilian Court hotel is casual yet elegant, with a palette of honey, gold, and citron. Plenty of natural light spills through arched glass doors opening to a lush courtyard that's just the place to be on a warm evening. Lunch and dinner entrées on the restaurant's signature four-section menu include classic French, seasonal, vegetarian, and a rotating roster of international dishes. The lounge, with its illuminated amber glass bar, is the perfect perch to take in the jet-set crowd that comes for a hint of the south of France in South Florida.

    not for a special occasion

food was great but nothing else came anywhere near expectations from the glowing reviews I've read. We didn't seem to have a designated waiter/waitress; the table settings lacked a knife & couldn't catch anyone's eye. The overhead speaker was playing rap music, albeit softly. Room was hot and it took f o r e v e r in between the soup course & the entree. The busboys/bread & water servers/ plate removers clothes were dirty & looked like they slept in the kitchen, yet they seemed to be our principal waiters. This was a Thursday lunch & it wasn't crowded. The drinking crowd was seated outside in the patio & they were fun to watch, but the experience was a big letdown - this is Palm Beach & they should know better!
