One of Miami's first Cuban restaurants and still its most ornate budget restaurant, Versailles dishes out heaping platters of traditional Cuban food amid mirrors, candelabras, and white tablecloths. The fun of Versailles is people-watching, though—that and the waitresses who call you mi amor. The coffee counter serves up the city's strongest cafecito, but if you can't handle it, ask for a cortadito, the same strong demitasse coffee but with steamed milk to soften the blow, and unless you like coffee syrup (Cuba equals sugar, after all), ask for it sin azúcar and add sugar to taste.

Very mediocre atmosphere other than fun people watching. Fair mojito. Good sangria. Steak - good cut of meat, not so great fries. The seafood gratin was good - very cheesy, good sauce that came with plantains which were great. Overall, nothing to write home about. I think there are probably more exciting dinner places, but might be more appropriate for lunch.
