Fodor's Expert Review Lodge at Vail

One of the first hotels to open in Vail, in 1962, the sprawling lodge is popular with skiers and families because of its fabulous location only 150 feet from the village's main lift, the Gondola One. Ski valets ready your skis every morning and collect your gear for drying in the evening. The quality and size of the rooms varies tremendously: smaller, individually decorated rooms feature a homey feel, while larger suites have modern touches like heated marble floors in the bathrooms and fireplaces.
