Alpine Loop Scenic Byway

Fodor's Review:

The inspiring Alpine Loop Scenic Byway joins Lake City with Ouray and Silverton. This part of the route is only open in summer and is not paved over Cinnamon Pass and Engineer Pass. However, this is heaven for four-wheelers, dizzily spiraling from 12,800-foot-high passes to gaping valleys.
