This hotel looks like an old stone mansion nestled against the mountain. Rooms feel luxurious and have views of the San Juan Mountains from private patios or balconies. If you choose, your room rate can include a hearty breakfast buffet served at The Nook, the hotel's lodge-style restaurant. The airy lobby has a large stone fireplace, comfy leather sofas, warm wool rugs, and curving iron and antler chandeliers. The fitness center has state-of-the-art cardio machines, massages are available on-site, and the outdoor hot tubs are delightful when it's snowing.

Just returned from a lovely and too-short stay at the Hotel Telluride. Perfectly located within walking distance to town and the grocery store, we found all conveniences at our fingertips. It was an easy walk for hikes, bikes, the gondola to Mountain Village, shopping, restaurants, etc. The lodge itself is cozy and comfortable with the right balance of mountain modern decor. Beds were comfortable, room spacious, and the refrigerator/microwave/kitchenette
were well equipped for this family. Contrary to the Fodor's review, breakfast was not complimentary but was included in our rate after we paid more for the meal. Service was excellent and friendly -- and where on earth did they get these kids? It's been a while since I've seen teens and 20-somethings so willing and helpful without being asked!! I do have one reservation, and that is that during our two day stay, I did try to secure a massage, and being the off-season, they don't have a full-time masseuse and they had to call around town for one. We didn't get a massage after all, but it is good to know for the future that in the summer it might be better to book with a local masseuse independent of the hotel. Apart from that very non-consequential thing, I'd return again heartily and happily recommend this jewel of a spot!
