Rosemount Victorian Museum is one of Colorado's finest historical institutions. This splendid 24,000-square-foot, 37-room mansion, showplace of the wealthy Thatcher family, gleams with exquisite maple, oak, and mahogany woodwork throughout, with ivory glaze and gold-leaf trim. Italian marble fireplaces, Tiffany-glass fixtures, and fresco ceilings complete the opulent look, and rooms seem virtually unchanged. The top floor—originally servants' quarters—features the odd Andrew McClelland Collection: objects of curiosity this eccentric philanthropist garnered on his worldwide travels, including an Egyptian mummy.
