Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun
Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun Review
This five-story tower was dedicated in 1937, after the tragic plane crash that claimed Rogers's life. Its interior is painted with all manner of Western murals in which Rogers and Colorado Springs benefactor Spencer Penrose figure prominently, and is plastered with photos and homespun sayings of America's favorite cowboy. In the chapel are 15th- and 16th-century European artworks.
