The owners of Devil's Thumb Ranch bought the little Gasthaus Eichler alongside Vasquez Creek and remodeled it in a similar vein, softening the rooms with puffy pillows atop remarkably comfortable beds and recasting in creams, golds, and rusts. The restaurant, Volario's, serves Italian ($$) as small plates and full-size entrées in a warm, rustic setting.
