• Morefield. The only campground in Mesa Verde, Morefield includes a village area with a gas station and store, and is close to the main visitor center and some of the best hiking trails in the park.
• Far View. Almost an hour's drive from Mesa Verde's entrance, Far View is the park's epicenter, with several restaurants and the park's only overnight lodge. The fork in the road here takes you west toward the sites at Wetherill Mesa or south toward Chapin Mesa.
• Chapin Mesa. Home to the park's most famous cliff dwellings and archaeological sites, the Chapin Mesa area includes the famous 150-room Cliff Palace and Spruce Tree House dwellings and other man-made and natural wonders, as well as the Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum.
• Wetherill Mesa. See Long House, Two Raven House, Kodak House, and the Badger House Community.
