Fodor's Review

For historic character in the heart of town, the Armstrong Hotel is in a 1923 building that's on the National Register of Historic Places. The small lobby charms with its original terrazzo floor, pressed-tin ceiling, and leaded prismatic glass windows. Choose from vintage rooms, furnished with one-off antiques, or modern rooms with a retro vibe. The comfy beds are made up with cotton sheets and feather duvets and pillows. The friendly staff can help with restaurant options. Request a third-floor room to minimize noise. Be sure to grab a cocktail at the chill Ace Gillett’s Lounge in the basement.
