Convict Lake Resort Review
The lake just beyond this resort (a 10-minute drive south from Mammoth Lakes) was named for an 1871 gunfight between local vigilantes and six escaped prisoners. Cabins here range from rustic to modern, and come with fully equipped kitchens (including coffeemakers and premium coffee). The least fancy feel like upgraded fishing cabins; the nicest have Jacuzzi tubs and other creature comforts. Regardless of what room you book, the valley here is so gorgeous, chances are you'll want to spend all your time outdoors. Winters are especially pretty and laid-back here.
