Santa Ynez Inn Review
This posh two-story Victorian inn in downtown Santa Ynez was built from scratch in 2002. The owners have furnished all the rooms with authentic historical pieces. The inn caters to a discerning crowd with the finest amenities—Frette linens, thermostatically controlled heat and air-conditioning, DVD/CD entertainment systems, and custom-made bathrobes. Most rooms have gas fireplaces, double steam showers, and whirlpool tubs. Rates include a phenomenal evening wine and hors d'oeuvres hour and a full breakfast.

We had high expectations on our 10th anniversary. So when we stayed at the Santa Ynez Inn, the place had a lot to live up to. It totally did. From the moment we stepped through the doors we were met with courtesy and professionalism. Matthew checked us in and showed us to our lavishly appointed room. He explained how to work the temperature controls, where to find our robes and slippers and even how to work the satellite television! The room was so incredibly luxurious.
Once the door closed we let our jaws drop as we explored the room in all its grandeur. We tried to review it closely and couldn't find a single thing to complain about. We enjoyed a glass of wine by the in-room fireplace, and I enjoyed a long soak in the giant jacuzzi tub before we headed out on a short walk to nearby Italian restaurant Grappolos.
After a wonderful meal there it was fantastic to wind down in our room listening to soft classical music from the room's sound system. The Inn features wine and hors d'ouevres and dessert and if you go on a Friday you get wine tasting and a complimentary chair massage! Too bad we missed that.
Every attention to detail was made. Things like an extra large, multi-head shower, controls to heat the tile on the floor of the bathroom, fluffy bathrobes. And in the morning we were treated to more than just muffins and cereal. We enjoyed a gourmet breakfast of broccoli artichoke quiche and banana french toast, served up by hospitable staff.
We walked through the garden area prior to wrapping up our perfectly lavish anniversary night out.
It was perfect and I'd highly recommend the Santa Ynez Inn for a romantic getaway.
