The Huntington Hotel Review

The venerable ivy-covered hotel, a family-owned property for three generations, has provided gracious personal service to everyone from Bogart and Bacall to Picasso and Pavarotti. The spruced up and very spacious rooms and suites were apartments in a former life. Most have great views of Grace Cathedral, the bay, or the city skyline. Half have wet bars, and all have antique desks, customized furniture in rich textures, and luxurious bathrooms. The elegant Nob Hill Spa complex offers an array of spa services that can be enjoyed while taking in panoramic city views. Healthy spa cuisine and champagne are served by white-jacketed waiters around an indoor pool with a fireplace lounge. To really chill out, guests can retreat to the newly imagined Zen room to relax on chaise lounges snuggled beneath the softest blankets and fuzziest pillows in town. The Big 4 Restaurant serves contemporary American cuisine in a clubby room with green-leather booths and a collection of San Francisco and Western memorabilia.
