Fodor's Review

If you prefer quiet nights and an unfettered view of the night sky and nearby sand dunes and Mosaic Canyon, this property is for you. Few things break the silence here, and only the deluxe rooms have televisions and refrigerators. Rooms are simple yet comfortable and provide wide-open desert vistas. The Toll Road Restaurant and Badwater Saloon serve American breakfast, lunch, and dinner favorites, from omelets and sandwiches to burgers and steaks. RV campsites with full

hookups ($32.75) are available by reservation.

Peace and Quiet

This hotel is a simple, no frills type of place. The rooms are clean and fairly roomy, though a tab overpriced for what you get. We spent 2 nights here and would do it again in a heartbeat. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Only ate breakfast here which was buffet style but very good. Would recommend a room with a refrigerator as it can come in handy to store food from the General Store. A bit of a drive or a heat up lunch from the General

Store may be necessary as the restuarant only serves lunch seasonally. Closest hotel to many attractions such as Scotty's Castle, sand dunes, Ubehebe crater, etc. Great Place!!

Absolute Solitude

Stayed there once for 2 nights. I will go back this year for a week. Rooms are simple and dated. Mine had no phone or t.v. Staff is helpful & friendly. The scenery is stunning...if you like desert. If you want quiet and solitude, this is the place for you. You might want to stock up on snacks/drinks before you come, the little general store can be expensive due to the remote area.

Don't Expect Too Much

Basic, 70s style motel rooms. Friendly staff, overpriced restaurant, small pool.
