Rose Tree Inn Museum
Rose Tree Inn Museum Review
Originally a boardinghouse for the Vizina Mining Company and later a popular hotel, the Rose Tree Inn Museum has 1880s period rooms and—its main attraction—a humongous rose tree (hence the name). Covering more than 8,600 square feet, the Lady Banksia rose tree, planted by a homesick bride in 1885, is reported to be the largest of its kind in the world. The best time to see the tree is from April to May, when its tiny white roses bloom. Romantics can purchase a healthy clipping from the tree to plant in their own yards. The museum might not look like much from the outside, but the collectibles and tree make this one of the best places to visit in town.
