Fodor's Review

The largest motel-style lodge in the park is tucked in a piñon and juniper forest at the eastern end of Grand Canyon Village, across from Market Plaza. The basic rooms are near the park's general store, business center, and the main visitor center. The lodge's cafeteria, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, serves standard park-service food.

YAVAPAI Means Everything is Nearby!

Stayed at Yavapai Lodge in early October 2004 and found the Lodge to be quiet, comfortable, convenient, affordable. Room had 2 queen beds, nice color cable TV, lots of hot water, a mini frigde that really worked. All of this is a park setting, deer outside your window and a short walk to the dining hall/cafeteria, market, post office and The Canyon. Parking was just outside the rooms and on the bus route for the park so you did not need your car

to go anywhere. Would recommend this to any family, groups, or couples going to the Grand Canyon.

better than we expected!

Stayed here in April, and for $100/night, the room was more than adequate. We were nervous after reading the (inaccurate) room description given here, but were pleased to find that each of our rooms had A/C, cable TV, mini fridge, and hairdryer. Very clean and in a nice location.

good alternative, secluded and peaceful

though a bit out of the way, in some ways this is an advantage, being that the area around the other hotels is swamped with tourists. shuttle bus stops right in front of the middle lodge, the walk to the rim takes about 20 minutes. room was very large and clean for the price. breakfast at the cafeteria is nothing to write home about

Location, location

Paid $109. Anywhere else I would have considered that price a rip off, but there aren't many options within walking distance of the Grand Canyon Rim. Room was clean, but spartan and showing its age. but we could leave the windows open at night and see the stars. We were able to walk to an overlook at sunrise and watch the shadows change on the canyon walls. Beautiful!
