Whispering Pines Resort Review
On 12 acres bordering the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, these well-maintained cabins are in walking distance of Woodland Lake and Walnut Creek. The cabins have fireplaces (wood or natural gas), grills, and double sofa beds. One-, two-, and three-bedroom units—some with second bathrooms—have either handsome knotty-pine or more modern wood-panel interiors. The four log cabins, three of them studio units, have a "hideaway cabin" vibe. Couples may want to request one of the alpine suites, with whirlpool tubs. It'll feel like home after a while: the resort doesn't offer daily housekeeping.
