Getting Here and Around

Like most of the Bush, there is no road access into Wood-Tikchik State Park. The only way in is either by air taxi or by boat. The entire park is open to private aircraft landings. In the summer months it's not uncommon to see kayakers navigating their way through the river systems, their point of origin in the town of Dillingham or farther away via the waters of Bristol Bay. Kayaking the river system is suggested only for experienced kayakers who have very good navigational skills, as it is quite easy to get lost in the labyrinth of mosquito-infested waters.
