Alaskan Sourdough Lodge Review

Formerly Bruce Harding's Old Sourdough Lodge, this rambling inn on the south side of the harbor, five blocks from downtown, began life as a construction camp, and traces of its rough-hewn origins remain today. The hallways are tight and rooms are modestly furnished, but a private suite (handicap-accessible and large enough for six people) has a large bathroom with a heated floor and a hot tub. Hardy home-style meals, including fresh seafood, are also available for those not staying here (advance reservations required). The lodge offers a complimentary continental breakfast and a courtesy van to the airport and ferries.
